Pain… one thing never searched for but found anyway. It can be found in choices made by us or others…at times, it simply finds us. Yet encounters with Jesus heal our pain.
Pastor Ron’s message this past week spoke such truth about pain and healing encounters with Jesus...
He sees our pain.
He sees past our pain.
He sees the point of our pain.
In pain, I wonder if He truly sees and is there really, truly a point to pain. Can he really see past the pain to what will truly heal? He gently reminds me…yes, He sees, for nothing is hidden from Him (Hebrews 4:13). Yes, he sees the point and purpose to pain, for it isn’t just about me but others too (2 Corinthians 1:3-5). And yes, he sees past pain, for He knows what lies beyond the surface to my deepest, truest need (Psalm 139:1-16).
Jesus physically healed the paralyzed man in Mark 2. Even more, He went beyond the physical to heal him of his greatest sickness…sin (Mark 2:5). Profound.
Mark 2:12 says, “He (paralyzed man) got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!”
What a story…God, let this be the story of me…of us.
